Introduce yourself and your baby in a few words.

My name is Anaëlle and I'm the mother of a little girl named Charlotte, who is 15 months old. After a rather difficult birth, we've become incredibly close, and I wouldn't be able to leave Charlotte with anyone else. And anyway, I don't want to!

We focus on gentle parenting, attachment parenting, and free movement at home.
Her dad and I are lucky to have a little girl who always has a smile on her face!

Why did you choose BLW ?

For me, it was a "no-brainer" and in line with what I wanted to give my daughter. Moreover, it went hand in hand with my breastfeeding and my beliefs!

During my pregnancy, I did a lot of research, and we also reviewed our first aid skills. We waited until we were six months along and then embarked on this adventure!

What scared you?

For my part, I've always been afraid she wasn't eating enough. And I still am! Charlotte has the appetite of a sparrow. She can have phases where she eats enormous amounts and others where she eats almost nothing at all.

For his dad, it was mainly the risk of suffocation that stressed him out.

Did the BLW Baby platform help you? If so, how?

The platform has been a huge help in diversifying my meals. And my grocery list too! So convenient and quick! I've also discovered recipes that we're currently making for the whole family! The site is easy to use, and every week we receive new recipes and a ready-made grocery list: it's truly fantastic!

When did the baby start eating more elaborate recipes?

It was only around 10 months old that Charlotte really started eating more elaborate recipes. Until then, we offered her "raw" foods because she was still in a phase of discovery.

Baby's favorite recipe

She loves broccoli fritters! In fact, she loves anything with broccoli, cheese (especially smelly cheese haha), and crepes!

What doesn't the baby like?

She's not much of a meat eater. Luckily, thanks to recipes, we find protein sources elsewhere!

Any advice for parents who want to get started?

Let go, trust your baby and trust yourself!

Do you have a nice or not-so-nice anecdote to share?

It's impossible to prepare the meal next to Charlotte without her yelling! I have to do it in secret, she's such a impatient little foodie haha!

Starting purees at 4 months and wanting to start BLW at 6 months is perfectly possible. Or perhaps you're wondering how to combine breast milk/infant formula and BLW .
