Introduce yourself and your baby in a few words:
My name is Amandine, I'm 32 years old, and I became a physiotherapist after retiring from nursing. I've been a mom for 15 months to little Arthur, who brings me immense joy! I'm incredibly lucky: becoming a mother was something I'd always dreamed of, but experiencing it is a whole other level!
Why did you choose BLW ?
When I became pregnant with Arthur, I was immediately put on leave from work. This gave me plenty of time to research all sorts of topics related to my new role as a mother. The question of introducing solid foods came up very quickly, and that's how I discovered the wonderful world of BLW !
Thanks to my training and studies, I was immediately convinced of the benefits this new approach could have on my baby's development. And the more I learned about it, the more I couldn't wait to get started!
What scared you?
I wasn't really scared. I knew what to do in case of a problem, and I'm generally a very calm person. I think it's very important to learn about a subject. The more knowledge you acquire about something, the more comfortable you feel with it!
Even though I knew better, I was still quite surprised the first time the baby had a gag reflex (gag reflex) because it's rather alarming. But by staying calm and letting him manage it, we were able to get through it together.
Did the BLW Baby platform help you? If so, how?
Finding recipe ideas isn't easy: we're not used to it, we quickly get lost, and let's face it, we want to make the best for our little ones, but we don't always know how. This platform has allowed me to find a multitude of recipes and therefore make my life easier! What's more, I've been able to step outside my comfort zone and suggest things I don't necessarily cook myself!
When did the baby start eating more elaborate recipes?
Around 9-10 months he really started eating more elaborate recipes.
Baby's favorite recipe
Vegetable blinis! An incredibly simple and easy recipe, and yet I would never have thought of it myself! And now, even my husband is asking for them at home!
What doesn't the baby like?
It's hard to find something Arthur doesn't like haha! I'd say he's less of a fan of drier textures.
Any advice for parents who want to get started?
Gather as much information as possible. And above all, explore, read, and make the most of this platform, which is full of information and recipes!
Do you have a nice or not-so-nice anecdote to share?
My husband wanted to make the famous vegetable blinis. He was proud of having prepared everything, but when it came time to cook them, a problem arose! He called me, unable to understand why they weren't as good as when I make them myself. The blinis wouldn't hold their shape. After some investigation, we realized that he had forgotten the flour in his batter!
