At the beginning of baby-led weaning (BLW), you'll probably feel like your baby is playing with their food instead of eating it. Rest assured, this is perfectly normal behavior during BLW . Your little one is starting to discover a whole new world: the world of food. All these new flavors, textures, and colors require your baby's full concentration to process all the information, and this happens at every meal. It's important to remember that food discovery involves all five senses. Your baby will use their hands to explore the BLW . They'll pick them up and squish them with their fingers. So, naturally, there will be food everywhere—on your baby's clothes and on the floor—after the first few meals. Always keep in mind that this is just a stage in your baby's development and they're not doing it to annoy you. There are a few tricks you can use to help your baby avoid playing with their food, such as having the right equipment or communicating with your little one.
