To begin baby-led weaning with your little one, it's best to be well-equipped. A suitable high chair, ergonomic cutlery, suction plates, and more—there's so much equipment available that it's easy to get lost in it all. At the start of baby-led weaning, food will be placed directly on the tray of the high chair. It's only around 12 months of age that a plate will make its appearance at mealtimes. How do you find the right plate for your baby's meals ? The ideal baby plate should meet three selection criteria. First, the baby plate should be a neutral color. A baby's vision isn't yet the same as ours, and they could mistake a pattern on the bottom of the plate for food. Second, the plate should have compartments to allow you to offer the different BLW in each compartment. Finally, the material is also important. BPA-free silicone plates or bamboo plates are preferable. In addition to these three main criteria, it is possible to choose a plate with a suction cup in order to attach it to the baby's tray during meals.
