Every bite of chocolate fills us with a feeling of happiness. It's such a delicious treat that we love to indulge ourselves from time to time with a chocolate treat or a homemade snack made with this delicacy. You're probably wondering: can babies eat chocolate ? Chocolate contains two nutrients that should absolutely be avoided in a baby's diet: sugar and nerve stimulants. Throughout the process of introducing solid foods, it's strongly recommended to offer babies recipes that are naturally sweet thanks to fruits and vegetables. Added sugars are not recommended until the age of 3. Nerve stimulants are not good for your little one. They affect a baby's sleep and irritability. The combination of these two nutrients can cause sleep disturbances and headaches. Of course, it's possible to introduce the taste of chocolate through homemade recipes. Around 8 to 12 months of age, unsweetened cocoa can be added to BLW . It's only much later, around 2 years old, that 70% dark chocolate will be introduced into baby food recipes. Both of these chocolate-based foods should be offered to babies sparingly.
