Strawberry basil panna cotta

Panna cotta literally means "cooked cream." It's a dessert of Italian origin, more precisely from Piedmont. Very easy to make, it requires only a few ingredients: heavy cream, powdered sugar (optional), vanilla, and gelatin sheets. This dessert, both firm and creamy, is served in ramekins or glasses and is traditionally accompanied by a coulis of strawberries, raspberries, or blackcurrants. Delizioso!
