Baby-led weaning (BLW) will allow your baby to discover the different flavors of food independently. As your baby develops and their appetite grows, their plates will increasingly resemble those of adults. To ensure the whole family enjoys a healthy and varied diet, it's important to consider the composition of a balanced plate for each family member. After the BLW , you can introduce balanced plates into your baby's meals. Generally, a good plate will include the five food groups: proteins, dairy products, fats, fruits and vegetables, and starches. Each of these five food groups provides different nutrients that our bodies need. It's difficult to find all five food groups in a single BLW . But that's okay, as it's easy to supplement them with any missing ingredients. For example, this spinach and goat cheese tartlet recipe can be accompanied by beef meatballs to create a nice balanced plate for baby's meal!
