During baby-led weaning, it's normal for your baby to throw food on the floor . It's good to be aware of this before embarking on this exciting adventure with your little one. When this happens, don't panic; it's perfectly normal behavior that can be explained by your baby's development and age. Of course, your baby isn't doing this to annoy you; they're trying to tell you something. At the beginning of weaning, it's simply a lack of coordination and control of movement while eating. Your baby's fine motor skills aren't yet developed, and eating independently is a real challenge. Around 9 months old, your baby will start experimenting and discovering that objects and BLW make noise when they fall on the floor. This will become a game for them, especially if you pick it up right away each time. This behavior can also mean that your baby is no longer hungry or that they want more independence at mealtimes. The best way to proceed is to be patient and let go. With time, the baby stopped throwing food on the floor.
