When your little one is born, it will be helpful to think about the approach to introducing solid foods you want to use with your baby. If you'd like to embark on the wonderful adventure of BLW , it's important to be well-informed and, above all, to be well-equipped so that mealtimes go smoothly. At the beginning of baby-led weaning, your baby will discover different foods in their raw form and later in delicious BLW . And all this while eating with their fingers! When can you introduce cutlery and plates to your baby's meals? From the start of BLW , you can use a pre-filled spoon to introduce your baby to many smooth textures such as compotes, purees, spreads, etc. This technique allows your baby to bring the spoon to their mouth independently after it has been filled by you, the parents. A fork will only be introduced around 12 months of age, when your baby's fine motor skills are a little more developed. Using this cutlery requires much more coordination, which is why it's best to wait. A plate will also be suitable around 12 months of age. You can then offer the various BLW on a plate designed for your baby.
