Before embarking on the exciting adventure of BLW , it's important to do your research to ensure everything goes smoothly at mealtimes. At the beginning of baby-led weaning, your little one will eat food in its raw form, directly from the tray of their highchair, using their fingers. When can you introduce cutlery and plates to your baby's meals? Only later can you introduce dishes for family meals. From 6 months, a spoon can help you offer different smooth textures (compotes, purees, hummus, spreads, etc.) to your baby. With pre-filled spoons, you fill the spoon and let your baby bring it to their mouth. It's only around 12 months that your baby will be able to use a fork to eat delicious homemade meals. Using a fork requires much more coordination, and at this age, fine motor skills will help your baby use this utensil. It is also around the age of 12 months that the various BLW can be offered on a plate and more directly on the highchair tray.
