  1. Hi, I'm having a lot of trouble blending oats. What kind of blender do you use? Is it possible without water or any other liquid? Thanks!

    1. Hello Isabelle,

We absolutely love lazy recipes here haha 😀!
Yes, you can use oat flour directly, because ultimately, blended oat flakes = oat flour 🙂

A wonderful discovery and enjoy your meal!

  2. Good morning,

I made this recipe, and after putting the pasta in the fridge, it became too firm to give to my baby, even after being boiled. How can I make it easier to mash? Thank you in advance.

    1. Hello Marine 🙂
Oat-based pasta tends to harden a little in the fridge because the oats absorb moisture as they cool. That's normal :).

To make them more tender for your baby, you can try a few things:
      • Steam them rather than soaking them in water. Steaming makes them softer.
      • Warm them in a small saucepan with a little water (like a mini sauce) to rehydrate them.
      • Add a drizzle of olive oil or a little sauce (tomato, plain yogurt, vegetable puree) before serving them to your baby.

For next time, you can also:
      • Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water to the dough before cooking for softer pasta.
      • Or cook them for 1 minute longer; they will be a little more tender after cooling.

If baby is starting BLW or still needs very soft textures, you can also lightly mash the pasta with a fork before offering it.

      See you soon,
      Lola
