Baby-led weaning (BLW) allows you to observe your little one and discover food with all five senses. It also means witnessing their wonder at every meal thanks to the many flavors, textures, colors, and more. Before embarking on this wonderful adventure, there are some safety guidelines to follow during mealtimes to ensure everything goes smoothly! First, your little one should be in a good position in their highchair. This means that your baby eats with their back straight at a 90-degree angle and supported by a footrest. It's also highly recommended that your baby be fully awake at mealtimes. Discovering new foods is new for them and requires a lot of energy. Next, it's important to create a pleasant atmosphere during mealtimes. Finally, it's strongly advised to offer your baby BLW that are appropriate for their development and age! The most important thing is to take your time and relax. In the beginning, your little one is more likely to play with the food than eat it. Take a deep breath, everything will be alright!
