During the baby-led weaning process, you'll offer your baby foods in different forms and textures to develop their palate as much as possible. However, some foods won't be a hit with everyone, and that's perfectly normal. Everyone has preferences and some foods they simply don't like. How can you substitute an ingredient in a recipe ? There are different types of starchy foods in a diet, such as legumes, flours, and grains. Replacing a starchy food in your baby's meal is easy! First, legumes are easily substituted for each other in a delicious recipe. Lentils can replace chickpeas, for example. Second, grains are also very easy to substitute. You can replace pasta in a BLW with rice, bulgur, quinoa, and so on. Finally, flours can be interchanged without any problems. However, special attention should be paid to the type of flour when changing it in a recipe. The higher the type number, the higher the fiber content. Adding a little water will be necessary to prevent the meal from becoming too dry.
