Endives have a rather unique taste, but baby might love them! Offer them endive fritters for supper. A great alternative to our famous endive gratin for those new to BLW . A little tip: serve the endive fritters hot or cold with a ham roll. Enjoy!
Learn more about allergens
Baby-led weaning (BLW) allows babies to discover all the delicious flavors of food, first in their natural form and then in delicious BLW . However, the introduction of some foods requires more attention than others. Allergens should be added gradually to your baby's diet to observe any potential allergic reaction. From the start of BLW , you can offer your baby allergens, regardless of any family history of allergies. These slightly unusual foods will be introduced differently. It is strongly advised to introduce only one allergen at a time in small quantities. This allows you to identify the responsible allergen in case of a reaction. It is also important to offer the allergen in question for three consecutive days. At least two exposures to an allergen are necessary before antibodies can trigger a reaction. If no allergic reaction occurs, you can add the tested allergen to your baby's regular diet. Pay close attention to your baby's reactions when introducing an allergen into their diet. Allergic reactions can appear 30 minutes after ingestion, but also several hours or days later.
