Salt is an essential ingredient in homemade meals. We use it to salt the water for cooking starches, to season a piece of meat or fish, and so on. However, this seasoning is strongly discouraged during the weaning process. Indeed, your little one's kidneys are still too immature to digest such a large amount of salt in their diet. Around 6 months of age, a baby's salt needs are approximately one gram per day. This very small amount is covered by foods that naturally contain salt. Therefore, it will not be necessary to add any when preparing many BLW , and this remains true until the age of 3. Furthermore, not offering salt to your baby at the beginning of BLW will allow them to consume much less salt throughout their life. A question is probably on your mind: how can you season your baby's meals and snacks? Although salt is strongly discouraged, baby's meals will still be tasty thanks to the use of many spices and aromatic herbs. These seasonings will be introduced into baby's diet from the start of BLW ).
