At the start of baby-led weaning, breast milk or formula covers more than 80% of your baby's nutritional needs. These daily doses of milk allow your little one to stay hydrated throughout the day. During solid meals, can you offer your baby water  ? Yes, absolutely! As soon as your baby starts BLW (Baby-Led Weaning), it will be important to offer water in small amounts several times during meals for different reasons. First, water helps rinse your baby's mouth. It's a good idea to rinse your baby's mouth with water between BLW to discover the true flavor of each one. Second, water helps your baby become familiar with cups, sippy cups with straws, etc. This will make it easier for them to hold a familiar cup and drink water independently. Finally, water also promotes good oral hygiene. At the end of meals, remember to offer your baby a sip of water to check that their mouth is empty. Water will also be very useful when your baby is sick or in hot weather, for example.
