Providing your baby with good nutrition during baby-led weaning (BLW) means offering them delicious and balanced meals composed of the five food groups: proteins, dairy products, fats, starches, and seasonal fruits and vegetables. From the start of BLW , it's important to offer your baby starches at every meal to spread their energy intake throughout the day. Starches are primarily composed of complex natural sugars, allowing your baby to build up energy reserves to face the day ahead. What starches can you offer your baby? The three main starch groups (legumes, grains, and tubers) can be discovered by your baby in their cooked, raw form or in delicious BLW . In other words, your baby can discover the flavors of pasta, rice, wheat, chickpeas, lentils, sweet potatoes, bread, and more. There are so many starchy foods that it will be easy to vary your meals every day. This banana French toast recipe is ideal for introducing bread into your baby's diet while also providing a delicious snack.
