Apples are often the first fruit offered to babies starting baby-led weaning (BLW). They feature in many BLW , such as apple tarts that are both crisp and melt-in-your-mouth. How else will you introduce this fruit to your baby outside of a recipe? It's not recommended to offer raw apples to babies due to the risk of choking. Don't worry, there are several safe ways to prepare them for your little one. From the start of weaning, apples should be offered cooked, either as a thick puree or as wedges steamed for 10 minutes. This way, the apple will be soft and your baby can easily mash it between their tongue and palate. Around 7 months, your baby can discover apples in two other forms. Raw apples can now be introduced into your baby's diet. The apple will first be grated and then offered as thin slices made with a vegetable peeler. After all these steps to discover the apple in different textures, baby will find this fruit in several BLW !
