Around 6 months of age, you have the opportunity to begin baby-led weaning (BLW) with your little one. Baby will be able to discover the flavors of the world independently thanks to numerous BLW . Your little one may not yet have teeth before starting BLW , and that's perfectly fine. Premolars, the teeth used for chewing food, only appear around 13 months of age. It would therefore be a shame to wait so long before offering baby a varied diet. Yes, you can begin the wonderful adventure of baby-led weaning with a baby who doesn't yet have teeth . At first, foods will be offered in their natural, unprocessed form and in a safe format. Teeth are not essential for chewing. Your little one will be able to eat using their tongue, palate, and gums. The food will melt directly in their mouth. Later on, BLW will be offered to baby. When a few teeth appear, you can start preparing crunchier recipe ideas.
