How to get a baby to eat pears

Available all year round on our stalls, the pear comes in about ten varieties which can be found between summer and the autumn-winter season.

To choose a good one, select a pear with smooth, taut skin. It should be free of bruises. The fruit should be supple around the stem and firmly attached.

Pears can be enjoyed in both savory and sweet dishes. But they are also excellent on their own!

How to get a baby to eat pears?

The benefits of pear for babies:

Pears are an excellent fruit to introduce to babies. They have a thirst-quenching effect because they contain a lot of water, their minerals are good for baby's development, and the vitamin B9 ensures proper development of the nervous system.

The fibers contained in pears promote good intestinal transit and the glucoses also facilitate digestion.

Gentle on the tummy, pears are recommended for babies who suffer from reflux.

  • Rich in vitamins C, B, A and E;
  • A thirst-quenching fruit;
  • Against constipation;
  • Rich in minerals.

The pear in baby's diet:

From the start of BLW , you can introduce pear into baby's diet.

To help your little one discover the true flavor of this green fruit, we recommend offering it to them from August to March .

The pear will be offered:

From 6 months : pear cut in half with a hole in the middle. This shape helps baby to grasp the fruit.

From 10 months : small or large pieces of pear. If the pear slips, roll it in almond flour or grated coconut.
