Mussels in BLW : an introduction to baby's diet to be done with caution

Baby-led weaning (BLW) is a wonderful adventure that allows babies to discover many foods, even some that might seem unusual, like persimmons, beets, or mussels. BLW mussels are a bit special because they are both allergens and potentially risky foods. How should you introduce mussels to your little one? First, it's important to remove the shells and cut them in half or quarters, depending on your baby's development. This size will allow your baby to safely discover the flavor of BLW mussels . Then, you can give your baby just one mussel for three consecutive days to check for any allergic reaction. Be attentive and cautious; if you have any doubts, don't hesitate to contact your doctor.
