What fat can be used to prepare baby meals?

When ?

From birth, baby consumes fat. Whether via breast milk or powdered milk. When baby starts the BLW (6 months), it will be necessary to introduce 1 to 2 teaspoons of fat per day.

What fats?

There are no good or bad fat: everything is to vary as much as possible!

Oils

It is important to try to favor organic oils and first cold pressure , this preserves its qualities.

Olive oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, linseed oil, grape seed oil, coconut oil, nut oil, sesame, ...

You have a multitude of vegetable oils to make baby discover ! Each will bring him nutrients necessary for his development: so be careful to alternate as much as possible!

What about butter and crème fraîche?

Even if it is better to favor fat materials of vegetable origins, butter and crème fraîche also have their places in baby's diet .

You can butter baby's sandwiches , put a knob of butter in a puree but all with sparingly !

For the crème fraîche , it will bring smoothness into certain baby dishes. Be careful that it will not replace a dairy!

How to introduce fat in baby's diet?

It is best not to cook fats because they will lose part of their benefits . Add a drizzle of vegetable oil at the end of cooking even if you must have already used fat during the preparation of your meal.
