How to offer baby vegetables?

As with the fruits , the form of presentation of vegetables will vary depending on the evolution and capacities of baby .

This may be:

  • raw or cooked depending on the texture
  • mashed
  • soup
  • In cakes, muffins, flans, ...

The carrot

This will be presented to baby from these 6 months in the form of steamed sticks .

At 6 months old, baby generally has little or little teeth yet. And the cooked foods offered should be very tender . When baby will bring the piece to his mouth, he will crush it between his tongue and his palate.

How do you know if a song is cooked enough ?

Take the song you just cook, put it in your mouth between your tongue and your palate: if you get it mush against your palate it is that cooking is good.

Be careful , however, not to cook your Batônnets : these will have to be taken in hand by baby and if the cooking is too advanced, it will crash directly into the baby's palm and it will quickly turn it into puree.

Once the discovery phase has passed, you can offer baby the carrot in other format : pancakes , muffins , pre -filled spoon of mash
