When summer and sunshine arrive, the desire to go on family outings becomes increasingly strong. But how do you manage when you want to go on a picnic with a baby ?

It's important to provide your baby with a healthy and varied diet , even during family picnics! Discover our easy-to-carry recipes for enjoying meals outdoors with the whole family!

Fruits and vegetables

What would a picnic be without fruits and vegetables to nibble on with your fingers? When you're out and about with a baby, having fruits and vegetables is essential. These foods are a great source of the vitamins your baby needs every day. For family picnics, opt for seasonal , especially those that are easy to eat with your fingers . Kiwi isn't ideal, as it will slip more easily from a baby's hands, while strawberries are perfect! All you have to do is cut them into a size that's safe for your baby.

Baby's favorite recipes

When eating out with your baby, it's best to avoid introducing them to new foods or flavors. Your little one will already be in an unfamiliar environment, and to ensure everything goes smoothly, it's preferable to prepare meals they're already familiar with !

Generally speaking, when we go on a picnic, we enjoy the food we choose to eat. It's the same for babies! During these little family outings, offer your little one their favorite recipes ! Think about recipes that are easy to pack in a container, like cookies, muffins, etc. Baby will be able to enjoy their favorite meals in the great outdoors!

Spreads

Besides all the pancakes, flans, and other snacks that baby can eat at a picnic, it's a good idea to vary baby's meals when they're out and about with the whole family. Spreads on bread or other carriers like blinis or crackers are a great idea! Baby can then have a lovely, complete meal with different textures and flavors for their first picnic.

Now that you know what food to prepare for a successful picnic with baby, don't forget to bring the essential equipment for eating away from home!
