Recipe idea for an 8-month-old baby

Carrot and parsnip rice balls: a recipe idea for an 8-month-old baby that doesn't require salt

When preparing BLW , we love adding flavor to recipes for 8-month-olds with spices and aromatic herbs. Salt is strongly discouraged during baby-led weaning. Your little one's kidneys are still too immature to properly digest all that salt. The recommended daily intake of one gram of salt for a baby is already met by the many foods naturally containing salt in our recipes for 8-month-olds . For example, when cooking the starchy ingredients for carrot and parsnip rice balls, you should be careful not to add salt to the water.
